A Night with the Mistress
A Night with the Mistress combines exceptional design, food and entertainment themed around edible gardens, decadence and naughty behaviour!
A Night with the Mistress is organised by the National Trust’s London Project which seeks to engage contemporary London with one-off, exciting and unique events and partnerships. The London Project will challenge what you expect from The National Trust – it’s time for the old to meet the new.
Guests will be welcomed to Fenton House, a beguiling National Trust property in Hampstead, with a drink and an optional tour of its treasures, before being led to a secluded area of the picturesque gardens. The mistress of King William IV, Dora Jordan, whose portraits adorn Fenton House, will serenade guests with songs from her latest stage role.
On entering the dining tent you will be transported to an intimate world full of garden foliage, flowers and branches, taxidermy and bird song, intermingled with an air of Regency style. Set designer Alice Hodge has created this immersive experience of secret affairs like discovering love letters on candlelit tables that conjure up theatrical elegance. This is an unforgettably extravagant garden party.
